Frederick Thompson papers on hunting in Iowa and Illinois, 1930-1937, bulk 1930.

This collection includes transcripts from the hunter interviews; a 597-page typescript version of compiled hunting reminiscences prepared by Thompson; correspondence; articles; and a few miscellaneous documents and photographs collected during the project. The hunters' stories focus on the hunting of waterfowl and other game birds (including the prairie chicken) and touch on subjects such as market hunting, firearms, bird dogs, and "duck special" railroad trains.
